Tips to Host a Memorable Awards Ceremony

When any organization has a large gathering, such as an awards ceremony, it can help set and maintain the entire culture of the organization, so it is worth putting in the effort to make it enjoyable for the attendees. Speaking specifically of awards ceremonies, it can get tedious to simply hear name after name called. Here are some ways to spice it up! 

 

1. Neglect the Stage 

Especially if your ceremony is on the small side, forgoing the traditional stage setup can be a great option. It will make the experience more personal and memorable. You can instead set up a table at the center of the action and use place cards instead of name tags.  

 

2. Ensure Some Networking and Socializing Time 

Again, hearing name after name called can get tedious. You need to make sure there is some time for guests to socialize with one another. In fact, you may even take the extra step of tweaking the seating layout to make it easy for people to maneuver and converse.

Of course, you can’t have a proper awards ceremony without good food! Especially if your organization is newer or has sort of an “undefined” culture at the moment, offering a good meal can push people over the edge, convincing them to happily attend the ceremony.
